Chris Brown Influenced By Michael Jackson

As the world's most influential and talented pop star, Michael Jackson was the greatest of all time. He influenced billions around the world, including Chris Brown. Throughout his career, Brown has made no secret of the fact that he idolized Jackson. For his 2007 MTV VMAs performance, Brown owned the stage with a masterful Jackson imitation in the middle of performing his hits “Wall to Wall” and “Kiss Kiss.”

During his tour of Australia and Europe last year, the 20-year-old took time out every night to perform a few Jackson hits and recite the famous breakdown dance to “Thriller.”

“Michael Jackson is the reason why I do music and why I am an entertainer,” Brown said in a statement after learning of his idol’s passing. “I will continue to be humbled and inspired by his legacy.” The admiration was mutual. “Chris is a bright and shining star whom I enjoy watching perform,” Jackson said of the young star in 2007. “I am happy to have had a positive influence on him.”
